The MJA Awards reward distinguished, original medical journalism produced over the previous year in the UK. This year's categories have been chosen to showcase particular aspects of the craft - investigative, interpretive, descriptive and innovative.

The awards will be judged by independent teams of experts and shortlisted entries posted on the MJA Awards website
(www.mjaaawards.com) at the beginning of December. The winners will be announced at the MJA Winter Awards ceremony in London in January 2012.

Each winner will receive a cheque for £500, and each commended entry will receive an inscribed certificate. The TV/radio drama award will be a trophy.

Full details of eligibility and how to submit entries, either online or as hard copy, can be found at www.mjaawards.com.
