Training courses in the near FEUture

FREE one-day training workshops are available from the Federation of Entertainment Unions (FEU, of which the NUJ is a part). These include "Realistic Optimism" (goal-setting) on 21 June in London and "Get Noticed" (the latest conventions in CV writing) on 28 June in Bristol. See FEU Training for details - and go there to register your interest in forthcoming training courses (with nominal fees) on building your own website, marketing yourself, money matters and networking via the interwebs.

Two blokes with a flip chart

Getting Started as a Freelance and Pitch & Deal, the two very successful courses the NUJ has developed specifically for freelances, are set to run again in November. Getting Started on 1 November costs NUJ members £60; Pitch & Deal on 15 November is £70.

A participant on the most recent Getting Started provided this endorsement: "I did really want to say what a brilliant day it was. No PowerPoint, no white boards, screens, videos, people saying 'That's funny. It was working perfectly yesterday': just two blokes with a flip chart, a pen, loads of experience and a friendly, positive attitude. How refreshing."
