Reviewer for collecting societies’ codes sought
THE BRITISH Copyright Council is looking to appoint an Independent Code Reviewer to undertake a review of the BCC's Principles of good practice for collecting societies (a.k.a. Collective Management Organisations) as well as the performance of CMOs against the minimum standards and to review individual codes of conduct.
The fee payable for undertaking this review is £25k.
This high-profile independent regulatory role offers a challenging opportunity to contribute to the long term future of copyright and its place in the UK economy, at a time of unprecedented economic, technological and educational change. Experience of working within the publishing sector or an intellectual property (copyright) background would be beneficial. You must be available to commence the review in November 2013.
The closing date for applications is 09.30 hours on 12 July 2013. Interviews will be held in London on 25 and 29 July 2013.
