Creating without conflict
THE FEDERATION of Entertainment Unions has launched the Creating without Conflict campaign to challenge bullying and harassment in the media and entertainment industries. The aim of the campaign is to raise awareness, to work with employers to create effective policies and procedures that will protect staff and freelance workers from bullying and harassment and give members strategies to challenge and report incidents without fear of reprisal.
A conference on Tuesday 19 November in London will explore the results of a recent survey, which asked union members about their experience of bullying and harassment. The aim of this research was to see how widespread the problem is throughout the media and entertainment industries.
The afternoon consists of workshops and the NUJ's John Toner and Lena Calvert will be leading two of these, giving members the opportunity to discuss in more detail the issues that has risen from the survey.
The conference is for members of the following unions: Bectu, Equity, Musicians' Union, National Union of Journalists and the Writers' Guild of Great Britain. The conference is free and lunch is provided. Book and register for workshops now using the link below.
