Possible strike at Belfast Telegraph, Sunday Life
NUJ MEMBERS working at the Belfast Telegraph and Sunday Life have voted for industrial action - including possible strike action - over their pay claim, minimum rates of pay and acting-up allowances (for filling in for a more senior member of staff when they're off work).
Over 86 per cent of ballots were in favour of strike action. The vote for industrial action short of a strike was unanimous.
Freelances who do shifts for either of these Independent News and Media PLC Northern Ireland titles may wish to consider suddenly finding themselves unavailable on these dates. Those who suffer financially as a result should contact the Chapel (the NUJ's work-based unit of organisation) of the newspaper.
